Adama Rachel Camara is a talented and committed Belgian-British author of Guinean origin, born in Conakry to a Guinean father and a Senegalese mother. She grew up in this vibrant capital, where she also studied social sciences.
Her academic career and aspirations then led her to move to England and then Belgium, enriching her multicultural experience.
Since 2000, Ms Camara has enjoyed an impressive career in a wide range of sectors, including the public sector and major corporations. She has worked for the Greater London Authority in the Mayor's Office under Boris Johnson, former Mayor of London and former British Prime Minister, and as a Market Expert with the prestigious investment bank Bank of New York Mellon. In addition to her professional achievements, Adama Rachel Camara is an active campaigner for the protection of children, a cause that is particularly close to her heart.
A polyglot with a passion for reading since childhood, she discovered her love of writing in her teens. This talent came to fruition with her work ‘Ada, The striped leoger’, a book for children that reflects her sensitivity and her concern to transmit profound values.
Two female figures stand out in her inspiring world: Aminata Sow Fall, the Senegalese author of the famous novel ‘La grève des Bàttu’, and her grandmother, who instilled in her the importance of valuing the beauty of the soul beyond appearances.
Adama Rachel Camara is a literary and humanist figure who enriches the world of children's literature with a unique and universal perspective.
